[Editorial] Why did Pinoy Online gamers stopped playing MMORPG games?

Well many of the online games started here in the Philippines are MMORPGs or Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing games but after a few years this MMORPGs got weaker than  the other games like Casual games such as Crazy Kart,MOBA games or Multiplayer Online Battle Arena like DOTA, DOTA 2, HoN and LoL and most of all is the arrival of the Online FPS games or First person shooter games making replicas of the world’s most famous FPS game Counter Strike to the world-wide web. But what did really make Pinoys “Off” the MMORPGs I think it all goes to this “money” most of the MMORPGs live in the loading system or loading up game cards to buff up your characters to make it stronger than grinding yourself up for long hours just to gain good game items which make most of the gamers off specially the ones who were renting in the internet café’s and kids who still depend on their parents money but  the time MOBA games such as Defense of the Ancients or DOTA arrived in the Philippines this made a big damage to the MMORPG world even though the effects of it is still not that felt a few years later yet the continued reduction of gamers is really drastic such as I am a player of one of the first servers of Philippine Ragnarok Online which is “Chaos “ this server usually ranges around 11-13 thousand players online or more specially when there is a 3x or 2x experience point mod yet I know most of the gamers are bots but you can still know that there are indeed a lot of people online making every spot of Prontera full of “tambays” or high level characters making their rest chatting up with friends, party mates and guild mates. I admit I was an avid fan of MMORPG games until now specially Ragnarok Online but the number of players and the game’s bad economic management really make me lose my urge to play the game again and one more thing that really “destroyed” MMORPGs are the loading up promos making highly rare in-game items easily grabbed by just loading up with game cards bought by money again of course and this promos really burn the game economies really bad. As far as I can see the only MMORPG game that is still balanced based on economy is Dragon Nest SEA, I know we cannot stop people from loading up because this kind of games are created to make people compete against one another  to be the best of the best but proper game balance, stopping third-party programs/ hacks and game economy management is really the key of making MMORPG games still interesting with People even after years and people really seek for the challenges in games specially for us Pinoys so do not make things too easy for us let us grind, farm up with friends and guild mates by doing this it will make the community more interactive and not just all about competition and power :)
